briefly....

Finally got these boys hung! I did these a while back for our first apartment in Bowling Green. I thought they matched the mail rack perfectly!

I ventured out to St. James with my mom this past Sunday, so I have some new ideas for projects in mind. Hopefully I can find time to work on those very soon.

Work is going well...you never know what the days bring, but every day is a challenge. I'm definitely still learning, but I am becoming less sensitive to some of their attitudes; getting used to them I guess. So I suppose that's a step.

tiles make great coasters

This project cost me about $16...which is very inexpensive...and it was so fun! The tiles I got from home depot for $.16 a piece. The stamp and ink are from Joanne fabrics...I also attached some felt to the bottom to keep the tiles from marking up the furniture. I'm so excited about these!

simplicity

Yay for new creations!!! I made this today in a matter of minutes so know that if you want to try it, it takes no time at all. All I did was cut a piece of fabric out that I liked and hand-stitched it on to the canvas. Then I taped off around it to created a white border...and painted the corners...wait for the paint to dry a little and peel the tape off (masking tape or painters tape work best). Its so simple but SO CUTE!

This piece I did a while back when I lived in Bowling Green, and was finally able to hang it up in our new bedroom. I like how peaceful it looks :) I got the canvas from Jaclyn, who worked at GAP at the time; they had this giant canvas with a black and white picture of a little boy printed on it and were going to throw it away! So instead of wasting it she gave it to me. I'm pretty sure it took 3 layers of paint before I decided exactly what I wanted to do. The first painting I did on it was hideous (or at least I thought so).

That's the problem with my approach in art is that I usually don't have a vision before I paint something...I just paint whatever I feel, I guess. Like I get in to the mood to paint something, but never really know what until I dip the brush in the paint and go with it.

I start shadowing on the job next week, and then start my actual schedule the following week. So hopefully within the next few weeks I will have time to paint something new...since I do need a few more paintings for the bedroom.
